Networks

We can help you plan, purchase, setup, upgrade, repair and run your computer network.

Whether for a single desktop, a small office setup, or larger corporate environment we have the skills and experienced to assist with:

:: Local Area Networks (LAN)
:: Network security issues including virus protection
:: Virtual Private Networks (VPN)
:: Networked applications and databases
:: Internet access options
:: IPv6 transition

We are an APNIC member. We are also a registered Internet Service Provider with the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman (TIO) and the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA).

Local Area Networks (LAN)

We can provide assistance in planning and configuration of your local network including desktop computers, servers, wireless access points and Internet connections.

Network security issues

We can assist with selection and configuration of routers, firewalls, servers and anti-virus software to promote network integrity. In this way your computers and data are better protected against computer hackers and service disruption.

Virtual Private Networks (VPN)

We can set up secure encrypted private networks over the Internet for you. This allows your computers to securely and seamlessly access files on remote servers as if they were drives on local computers. It also lets computers at multiple sites share data as if they were at the one site.

Internet access

We can help you choose between different Internet access approaches to find one that suits your operations and needs.

Networked applications and databases

We can develop approaches for you to provide data reliably across the Internet using databases distributed on different servers and potentially in different countries.

IPv6

IPv6 networking represents a challenge. It is substantially different to IPv4. Forward planning is essential and we can help you with this.

Standard Internet connections are based on an addressing protocol called IPv4. The theoretical limit of this protocol has been reached. This issue has been foreseen for about the last 15 years and an enhanced underlying protocol called IPv6 has been developed.

At some stage over the next few years almost all computers, routers and associated equipment will need to support IPv6. For example Windows7 fully supports IPv6, but many other earlier operating systems do not.

We can help you prepare and make this change through advising on appropriate purchasing, deployment and configuration of hardware and software for your business.
